Margaret Drake is a retired occupational therapist, art therapist, and educator

Whose rich professional journey spans four U.S. states and two foreign countries.With over three decades of experience in healthcare and education, Margaret brings depth, compassion, and insight to everything she does—including her writing.

Margaret first moved to the Island of Hawaii in 1968 to teach school, igniting a lifelong connection with the islands. In 1972, she returned to the U.S. mainland to pursue a degree in occupational therapy, launching a fulfilling 32-year career that allowed her to serve diverse communities through healing and creativity.

Now living on the Big Island for the past twelve years, Margaret continues to share her talents as a novelist, civic leader, and dedicated volunteer at a rural hospital. She is the author of both professional and creative works, writing for adults and children alike. Her stories are often inspired by her experiences, her love for Hawaii, and her commitment to the human spirit.
